This International Women’s Day, we’re proud to be #AcceleratingAction at Gravitas by amplifying the voices of our Ladies+ group - a community committed to driving gender equality in the workplace.
In this special video, we sat down with some of our incredible team members to discuss what equality means to them, share stories of the inspiring women who have shaped their journeys, and reflect on the progress we’ve made (and the work still to be done).
A huge thank you to Ladies+ for their invaluable contributions - not just in this conversation, but in their daily efforts to create more inclusive environments for our clients, candidates, and colleagues.
At Gravitas, we believe that diverse perspectives fuel success, and we’re committed to championing equality, not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.

"What does International Women’s Day mean to you?"
Jo Callaghan: "So for me, International Women's Day is one of the highlights of the DEI Calendar. Obviously being super personal to me, fiercely passionate about anything to do with promoting women, whether it be in the workplace or at home. It's something that I always like to champion. Anything that includes inclusivity, any sort of decision making, whether that be on small scale or large scale is only gonna have a positive impact."
Mica Reid: "It embodies celebrating women all across the world, bringing people together in one unison, and it's all about empowerment."
Beth Newell: "International Women's Day is important because it's 2025. It's taken us while to get here and get all we have, so why not celebrate it?"
"This International Women’s Day we’re Accelerating Action."
Feben Petros: "This year's theme means driving change and giving opportunities for women in all areas of life."
Vicky Morgan: "It's been discussion point for a long period of time, but it's time we started to see development and advancement in this and Accelerate Action highlights this. It's time we started to affect change."
"Who are the women that have inspired your journey?"
Renee Yeong: "I think Laverne Cox has really inspired me. She's a fantastic trans woman who is not only an activist, but also an actor, she really promotes not just activism, but also having fun and fully embracing your life."
Abby George-Taylor: "I would say my mum, definitely. I've kind of grown up in a single parent household, so my mum's done everything and given me every opportunity that allows me to be the person I am today."
Jo Callaghan: "From a professional point of view, got be Miss Alex Naylor, our CPO. I've known Alex now for 18 years. I met her as a 20 year-old on my recruitment campaign. The way she carried herself, the way she communicated, the position of power she had, the way she influenced, the way she supported. I definitely wouldn't be where I am today without her."
"What action have you taken to promote gener equality in the workplace?"
Feben Petros: "We've got the Ladies+ resource group. This is an opportunity for all the women in the business to come together, learn from each other and make sure it's safe space for open dialogue."
Vicky Morgan: "So for me it's about ingraining it in all our policies and processes and making sure that it a focus point of all the training that I give to the business."
"What actions are necessary to acheive gender equality?"
Mica Reid: "It's important for women to have allies from all walks of life, from entry level to senior leadership."
Renee Yeong: "I think a big one for me is seeing clear examples in real life of very successful female leaders, senior leaders, like we have in Gravitas. I think that's been very inspiring, very empowering for myself."
Jo Callaghan: "So for me, gender equality is not something that's going to be achieved overnight. I think it's generational. I think we've already come so far to where we were even 10 years ago. And I think every person will have different actions, whether it be short, medium or long term, for me it's about ensuring that our next generation of females know what is possible. I spot talent, I nurture it, I empower, I support, I make sure that every female in the business knows that getting to the top is difficult, but it's doable, and that they'll be supported every step of the way by me.
